Entertaining guests can be one of the best parts of owning a home, but hospitality is an art form. Too often, the guest bedroom and bathroom unintentionally wind up plain and unaccommodating. Use these tips to provide a 5-star experience for your overnight guests.
Make the bed comfortable for anyone by providing extra pillows and blankets, so guests can add or remove layers as they wish. Consider having soft and firm pillows available for different preferences.
Give guests temperature control. Add an oscillating fan or a small space heater, depending on the weather, so they will not be too hot or cold.
Provide interesting reading materials, such as local magazines and travel guides, so your guests can relax and plan their next day’s activities.
Stock over-the-counter medicines, travel-sized toiletries and other commonly forgotten items in the bathroom or nightstand, and let your guests know they are there for the taking. Don’t forget to provide extra tissues, toilet paper and plenty of towels.
Empty a few drawers and leave closet space available with extra hangers, so your guests do not have to live out of a suitcase.
Post the Wi-Fi password where it is easily visible in case you are not home when they need to connect.
If you really want to impress your guests, make them Banana French Toast for breakfast.
